Holiday Highlights

The holidays are so much more rewarding when there is a little one around. I know that Dane probably had no idea at all what was going on, but it was much more fun for me to be excited for him. We had a wonderful Christmas, filled with family, friends, food, and fun.

There were three cousins born this year on Brock's side of the family. All boys, and all five months apart. Connie found these funny little reindeer outfits, and just had to get them for the boys. Garrett is already wearing 18 month clothes (though he won't be a a year for another two weeks) but the biggest she could find were 6-9 months. Luckily Colin and Trish were able to squeeze him in for a couple cute pictures.Dane, Garrett, and Kaden

We took Dane to see the lights at Temple Square the week after Christmas. He LOVES lights, and was fascinated with all there was to see. It was so much fun to see it through the eyes of a child.

New Year's Eve was interesting. We had some plans with some friends, but Dane had been sick, and started to wheeze every time he breathed out. So I called the doctor, and they said to bring him right in. Turns out that he had bronchiolitis, which is most commonly caused by RSV. Such great news! Since it is caused by a virus, there was nothing they could do for him. They weren't too concerned because the doctor said "He has plenty of reserves" but to watch him really carefully, and if he started coughing so hard he choked, that we were to take him straight to Primary Children's.

Even though it's not fun to hear your child likely has RSV, I felt calm about it. He wasn't acting like he felt really sick; except for eating a bit less than usual he was his happy, smiley self. But since he was highly contagious for about a week, we decided to cancel our plans and stay at home. My mom and dad came down and we played card games, watched Everest, and had a really good time.

Dane is feeling much better now. He is not wheezing anymore, and thankfully we didn't have to take him to the hospital.

Here are some pictures of Dane's first Christmas. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season too!

OH Lindsay! I'm so glad that Dane didn't get too sick. RSV is nasty!!! Ryan got it when he was 4 weeks old, and we ended up taking an Ambulance from the doctors office to Primary Children's where we ended up spending a couple of days. It is awful stuff, but I'm glad Dane is doing well!
