Eternal Families

This thankful list item deserves some recognition, and I have not had a chance to write about it until tonight. On October 25, Bryce Brown, a long time friend of my family, lost his battle to cancer at the very young age of 33. He put up an amazing fight, and was an incredible example to all who knew him. He stayed positive, and continued to focus on the blessings in his life as he was being taken over physically by this disease. He left behind his wife of 5 years, and his 9 month old daughter. The best part about all of it, is that he and Tammy were married and sealed in the temple for time and eternity. So although their time together here on earth was tragically short, they will be able to be reunited with their beautiful daughter to live together forever because of their faithfulness and diligence in keeping their covenants and living amazing lives.

Reading about their experience through Tammy's blog (noted in my links of blogs to visit, should you be interested) and being able to attend his funeral services has made me reflect on the importance of living each day the very best we can. I am so grateful that I was able to find true happiness in the teachings of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and be sealed to the love of my life. Now it's just a matter of continuing to live by those covenants we made, and keeping ourselves worthy of the blessings promised within those holy walls.

I followed the link from your site and visited Tammy's blog about one month ago. I was so amazed at how this women, wife and new mother could be so strong and optimistic during such a trying time. I cried my eyes out then as I read her account of a typical day in their home as they fought their battle! And now I am blown away at her strength and grace as she continues to honor her husband in the fight against melanoma... Eternal families are so wonderful and the knowledge of such ties makes this kind of strength possible.

As Thanksgiving tends to bleed into the craziness of Christmas, this is an important reminder of what we all really do care about and truly have on our "wish list"...peace, happiness, and love.
